Escape the crowds with this small group tour of the amazing city of Rome! From Capitoline Hill and the Colosseum to Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon, you will see all the best Rome has to offer.

You will meet at the pier where your driver will take you on an approximately 80 minute scenic transfer past farms and orchards to the beautiful city of Rome. Upon arrival to the Eternal City you will be greeted by Capitoline Hill, an early Roman citadel containing several ancient ruins as well as Medieval and Renaissance palaces. Over at the 50,000 seat Roman Colosseum you will have 40 minutes of free time (entrance ticket included) to explore this grand example of classic Roman architecture and imagine what it must have been like as gladiators, Christians, and wild beasts battled to their deaths. Nearby you will find the imposing triumphal Arch of Titus erected in A.D. 81 by the Emperor Domitian.
From there you will pass by Palatine Hill, Circus Maximus, and the Victor Emanuel monument on your way to the old section of Rome where you will walk through the narrow, twisting streets to the Trevi Fountain. At 85 feet high and 65 feet wide, this is the largest Baroque fountain in the city with a traditional legend: those visitors who throw a coin over their left shoulder into the fountain are ensured a return trip to Rome. While in town you will also see the Pantheon, built in A.D. 126 as a temple to all ancient Roman gods. Make a stop at the Navona and Farnese Squares if time permits, then enjoy a quick lunch (on your own) before you make your way to Vatican City with views of the Castel of the Angels and Bernini's Bridge of the Angels along the way.
Once in Vatican City you will have 45 minutes of free time to visit St. Peter's Square and St. Peter's Basilica, or just soak in the sights and browse for souvenirs. In that role, Mr. Miller was responsible for contributing to Abercrombie & Kent's international growth through the development and acquisition of tour products and travel experiences around the world with a specific focus on cruising and land based experiences. Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.
Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean. While at Royal Caribbean, Mr. Bonner was responsible for forming Royal Celebrity Tours, Royal Caribbean's land-based tour operation in Alaska, which takes cruise passengers on multiple day tours through the interior of Alaska either before or after their cruises.
